August, 2014 (Montreal) New York street artist QBNYC (Turtlecaps) invited the Stadium Art Movement to participate with a star-studded cast of other street artists in a secret gallery. With little more than a 12 day deadline, as many as 48 artists participated in the historical event. The media helped fan the flames with special mention in Cult Mtl [see here], La Presse [see here] and Le Metro [see here].

En Masse, MissMe and Waxhead all joined the Stadium Art Movement!

First we took the street, now we take the sky...

 13th December, 2013 (Montreal) Tonight the Greenlight Gallery [see here] is having a vernissage for their Holiday Show which includes street artists Danny Guay, Waxhead, I am Rurik, Citizen Sven, QBNYC, Future Lazor Now, Robin, Gawd, Jono Doiron, Chris Dyer, Marc Sirus, David Merk, Cryote, Lindsay Campbell, Adida "The Fallen Angel", Bfor, Luc Bouchard, Earthcrusher, James Bouthillier, IAMBATMAN, Baba Lye (Belinda) and the Stadium Art Movement (featured above). These originals are floating around the $200 mark but there is lots of art available at lower prices.

 Meanwhile this year's 2014 Stadium Art Movement Calendar is in it's final edition so there is even more reason to snap it up. This weekend (14-15 December) you can score this 12 image set at the Old Skool Crafts Fair--Foire Arisinal [please see here] in the Mile-End district of Montreal.

11th October, 2013 (Montreal) The Stadium Art Movement has taken a swan dive into Foodie Culture by teaming up with Burger Royal [see more here] on Blvd St-Laurent in Montreal. You are looking at an aerial view of l'Arrondisement Plateau-Burger Royal while you taste what has got to be the yummiest hamburger in the city.  [For a totally unbiased review of the resto see more here.]

Jackie Robinson's breakthrough at Stade De Lorimier Lives on with Stadium Art Movement T-shirt

Summer is a fine time to wear a T-shirt with a defunct stadium printed on it.

2nd June, 2013 (Montreal) Stade de Lorimier no longer stands but there is still a playing field where the legendary Jackie Robinson broke the colour barrier while playing for the Montreal Royals during the 1940s. This shows the stadium looking towards the city centre before the architects of the New International School got their hands on the skyline. In the foreground we can see the roof of the now-famous Grover Building. Despite the disappearance from the landscape of this absolute baseball treasure, this district still remains a very vibrant and desirable area of Montreal's East End.

Montréalité Stages First Public Mural in Montreal from the Stadium Art Movement

15th June, 2012 (Montreal) A mural for Montréalité [see here] depicting an aerial view of Montreal including the famous Molson Stadium is halfway complete. Here is a very rough video documenting it at this stage before it gets even more detailed.

Stadium Art Movement Commemorates the Birthplace of Grid Iron Football

Nestled at the foot of Mont-Royal, Molson Stadium is one of the more historically significant stadiums in the world.

12th June, 2012 (Montreal) Here is a mural of Montreal we have been doing for Montréalité. Still a work in progress,  it will eventually include the famous Olympic Stadium but now that the famous Molson Stadium has been inked into the skyline, the mural can now be considered an official output from the Stadium Art Movement.

Molson Stadium happens to be one of the most historically significant stadiums in all of North America. Site of the match which pitted Harvard visitors against McGill in a game of Rugby that combined the "Boston Rules" (an anachronistic code made up of remnants of Irish Football and other elements) this stadium saw some some other made-up rules added to what we have come to identify as Grid Iron Football today.
Make no mistake, American Football and Canadian Football each have their roots in this famous game between Harvard and McGill, whereby two teams sat down and ironed-out the new laws of play. At the time, there were so many versions of the game that a code was needed. After all, how can you win a league if each match you play on the way to becoming Champion has different rules and regulations than the last one?
